August 19, 2019:

I fly from Roissy Charles de Gaulle to Vancouver for a 3 week stay in Western Canada. My goal is to visit Haida Gwaii Island and go back down the Rockies.

With jet lag (9 hours less), I arrive the same day at the Vancouver airport, after flying over Greenland and northern Canada (first and second photo):

Not attracted by urban centers, I chose a hostel not far from the beach. The proximity of trees and mountains opposite, comforts me in my choice.

I take advantage of onlyy full day in this sector to acquire the prevention material against bears (bell to make my presence heard and spray defense) and then go to the anthropological museum.

The art mainly exhibited is that of the Amerindians living on the Pacific coast of the country:

The following two containers were used to present food at the banquets:

I leave the city by ferry to Vancouver Island, which I have to cross completely before taking another ferry for 17 hours to reach the small port city of Prince Rupert, in the far north of the province of British Columbia, at 50 kms as the crow flies from the border with Alaska:
