Make some rare encounters with hikers, like here at breakfast near the place called Les Grosses Têtes:

I quickly return to my loneliness ...

... to the Settons Lake where I'm celebrating my 32nd birthday in front of a good plate at the restaurant:

The biggest hoof of France:

I'm getting closer and closer to my destination, enjoying the hospitality of a resident in the hamlet of La Cure for one night. The forest gives way to the fields:

And finally I arrive down of Vezelay, a hamlet very visited because of the Basilica Marie-Madeleine (120 meters long!) Where we can see relics of the saint. Moreover it is the departure for one of the ways of Compostelle:

I arrive there for the summer solstice, as planned, to enjoy the unique luminous phenomenon in the year: the restoration of the light stained glass on the ground, in the middle of the main alley, called the "Way of Light" .

Choir of the Basilica:

I will stay almost 4 full days around and in Vezelay, where I do not stop making interesting encounters. Here pilgrims:

I decide to continue my walk to join the small city of Avallon about 20 kms further north, I spend one last night in bivouac without tent and will enjoy the company of deer, nearby all night. What gives me a serene rest of high quality:

The next morning for the last leg I leave around 5.30 am and after a climb is the sun waiting for me to greet, the path of natural light here :

This is how I finish my hike at the municipal campground in the swimming pool, happy to refresh myself in something other than the shallow river ...

As I walk in the evening in search of a restaurant I meet at the foot of his house, a local with whom I will share the cocktail party of end of this hike of 180 kms: a royal kir please. Cheers !
